Miss Sasha Olivia Small
Miss Olivia is a Lilac Lynx Point Himalayan.

Chloe Seal Lynx Point    and  Zoe a blue cream Persian. Both are beautiful examples of good loving.
Zoe and Chloe looking at birds through the windows!

Chloe has turned out to be soooo very gentle.  She bites my finger when i'm playing and teasing her, but it's so gently that I can barely feel it.  Then she swipes me with her paws and leaves her claws in so as not to  hurt me... To think when I got her she was so vocal and demanding when she vocalized....I thought she would turn out to be so aggressive, but she's as gentle as a lamb....she comes and cuddles me every night when I'm doing emails on the computer.  She's so big that when she stretches out and puts her head under my chin, her tail almost touches my toes....she's a  big animal but very graceful and beautiful.  I love both of my girls....thank you so much for having DollFace Cattery....your cats are the BEST....Just like you!  S~L~
  WHEN A BABY IS BORN!

I though this month I would talk about what happens when a kitten is born.
We all know what actually happens when a kitten is born, I’m talking about how it feels to be part of such a wonderful moment.
I wait with patients, watching the mother try to get comfortable yet wanting to be petted, rubbed, and loved at the same time.
Slowly she settles down and she starts panting.  It wont be long now before I can see a baby being born.  I watch with anticipation of the first kitten, longing for the sweet cry telling me
“I’m safe! Where's my mommy”?
I gently cup the kitten in my hand and wipe it dry. “Hello little one, welcome to the world” I kiss it’s forehead and place it close to mom.
With time the rest of the siblings arrive and each one is greeted with love and warmth.
I make sure mom is done and change the bed.  Now it’s time to be quiet!   I throw another log in the wood stove to make it extra warm in here and eventually go to bed.
Every morning I get up at 6:30 to let the dogs out and check on the babies.  All the babies have dried out and now are fluffy. I check each one to see if it’s a girl or boy, weigh the baby to make sure it’s getting enough milk and kiss it good morning.
I try not to determine the color points right away, they will change over the next few weeks. Yoni’s babies are easy they are either black or seal point.
Mazie Dobbs will have a rainbow of colors because she is a Tortoiseshell and dad is a seal point.
The best part is holding the cute, fat, fuzzy, warm little babies whenever I want to.

There are days when mom looks at me with the “what are you doing to my baby” look, not quite sure what I’m doing when I dress up her babies with lacy collars to take pictures, or when I put a baby in a shoe or a coffee cup to get that perfect picture.
Believe me it’s a lot harder then it looks!  Sometimes it takes 20 pictures just to get the right one.  They don't seem to have much of an attention span while they are kittens.
Around 6 weeks you can get better pictures of them actually playing with each other.
I take pictures to document their growth and to make DVD’s for the new parents.
I prepare the web page and post new pictures. This is done several times a week as the babies grow so fast.
Before I know it, it’s time to go to the veterinarian for their wellness check up and shot.
In a few short days my little friends will be leaving.
My heart is heavy, yet filled with joy when I see the look on the new moms face as she picks up her new baby, hold it tight cupped in her hands and for the first time she kisses it on the forehead.  I choke up knowing my little friend is leaving but it will be loved and that makes me smile.
Both mommy cat and I roam around the house, both of us a little lost looking for our babies.  With time it will pass and were ready for a new litter of babies that we can love again.

Welcome
Miss Olivia loves to be up high on the top shelf in the cattery.
Next to the top shelf is a large root from a tree, it almost touches the ceiling.
She loves to sit on it.
Miss Olivia keeps an eye on everyone down below!
